Lessons I learned tonight

• Trying to do something social without my cell phone is just dumb. It nearly always fails
• When it rains in DC, traffic is a nightmare and hailing a cab is even worse.
• Cab drivers that pontificate about the current state of affairs in Iraq are really quite irritating when you've already had an atrocious evening.
• The SW waterfront is horribly inconvenient for those of us car-less people.
• My boots are not waterproof...sexy, perhaps, but not waterproof.
