All in a day's commute

As I was walking to the metro this morning, a bug flew into my eye. How do they do that? Is it an incredible lack of navigation skill or extreme precision that allows them to propel themselves into my eye? I don’t know, but regardless, I had to stop and deal with the inconvenience. I tried to make sure my watery eye was clear of all bug matter, but it didn’t seem to be working so I started on my way again, still fidgeting with my eye. At the corner, I caught up to a guy that passed me when I had stopped to deal with the bug. He looked at me and said, “Are you okay?” I laughed and said, “Yeah, I’m fine. I think a bug flew into my eye.” He stopped me and picked the bug off the corner of my eye with his fingers. A sweet and appreciated gesture, but borderline personal for a complete stranger. Turns out it was his first day in DC so I showed him the way to the Metro in exchange for his bug-picking services. Strange.

LOL! Apparently he hasn't been in DC long enough to know that's weird behavior. If it had been next week, after being here for a week, he may not have been so "helpful". Was he cute? Did you get his number? Or better yet, did he get yours :) It's all about networking girlfriend!
