a long weekend with Mama

Mom's coming in for the weekend. Don't get me wrong -- I love my mom. We are great friends. We are better friends when she isn't living in the same 350 sq. feet that I am, though. So, we need lots of activities. We will be painting my kitchen back to white (so sad, I know!) and packing up my books, but that will only take so long. I think we will go to Eastern Market for a while on Sunday followed by brunch, but again, that only takes so much time. What else shall we do? Suggestions, anyone?

You could kill some time at Ebenezers; swing by the lower level and check out the photography group exhibit. Just an idea =)

The National Museum of American History will be closing after Labor Day for two years. You could have one last hurrah.

what about paddle boating in front of the Jefferson memorial? Kind of random and unexpected, but it could be a lot of fun. Not something moms and daughters usually do, but an interesting bonding experience. My mom and I went sledding in Switzerland one year while my dad tried to snowboard. We had a blast sharing a little sled together and zooming down the kiddie slope.

ooh... both good ideas! I definitely will swing by the photography exhibition ...if not with my mom, then definitely by myself! Paddleboating is perfect! She will love that! I wanted to go over to the Jefferson memorial anyways. You guys rock!
Any other ideas out there?

How about lunch in G-town along the water? Check out some cool stores with clothes that I could never afford. Go to urban outfitters and dare each other to something wild and wacky.

Millenium Stage at Kennedy Center.
